Information for parents

For students under 18

Your student can submit an application with your name and email, after asking your permission to share those details. The application is a request for review. It does not record your permission to participate.

Before arranging mentor contact, the MYE team must contact you directly, explain the proposed activities and communication arrangements, and receive your confirmation. We will ask you to confirm that you are the student’s parent or legal guardian. You can ask questions or decline.

Giving us your email or checking a box on the student’s form does not complete this step. Until it is completed, mentor contact remains on hold.

Applying with your student

Students ages 11 and up can use the application form directly. You can help your student complete it. For applicants under 18, include your name and email so the team can follow up with you.

Stay involved

Review the proposed mentor, meeting format, schedule and communication channels before agreeing. A parent or guardian should remain included in arrangements involving a minor. Follow the adult-supervision guidance in the course for tools, payments, testing and meeting other people.

Your student’s saved course answers stay in their browser. Applying does not send those answers to the team. You do not need to buy a service or make a donation to apply or participate.

Photos and stories are a separate choice

Participation permission does not authorize public use of your child’s name, photo, quote or story. The team must request separate permission for a specific feature. You may decline publication and still participate in the program.

Your information and choices

Applications and follow-up correspondence are handled through MYE’s email providers. See the privacy notice for what is collected, who processes it and how to request access, correction or deletion. Read the program terms before confirming participation.

You can withdraw participation permission or raise a concern by emailing general@muslimyouthempowerment.org. The team will pause further mentor arrangements while reviewing your request. Please do not email identity documents.
